What Happened Here?

Pink Partner and I returned from a long holiday weekend with his family. And what do we see? But my brother and his wife's house on the front page of the local paper!!!

Apparently, there was much frivolity at the Ritter compound over the weekend.

No one told me while I was celebrating with the in-laws that my brother almost burned down the countryside with fireworks. I had to read about it in the newspaper!

Several acres of land burned and firetrucks from two surrounding towns had to respond to the blaze.

To protect his anonymity, I'm not gonna link to the story. But the lead photo is what appeared on the front page of the paper.

I leave town for just a few days and this is what happens. Thank Lee Greenwood, no one was hurt!

UPDATE:

My sister-in-law just called me and gave me the 4-1-1 on the fire. She said it was actually a very scary ordeal.

The fire obviously was an accident and neither she nor my brother were responsible.

Two twelve year old boys started the fire, and even though they took precautions, it got out of hand very quickly.

Now I feel like an idiot for implying drinking may have been involved. They are both very responsible people... I was trying to be funny...now I regret it. I apologize.

I mistakenly thought it was something to poke fun at, but it was much more serious than I initially made it out to be. Thanks for setting me straight, sis.

We are grateful to a lot higher power than Lee Greenwood that no one was hurt. We truly believe it was a miracle that their home didn't catch fire.
