This is sick! Strawberry Shortcake has undergone an extreme makeover! And not a good makeover like Ashlee Simpson. A bad, very bad makeover like Jennifer Gray from Dirty Dancing. The kind of makeover that has left her unrecognizable.
American Greetings, the company that owns the rights to Strawberry Shortcake, claims the 80's icon was "stodgy." So they slimmed her down, broadened her eyes, and kicked her kitten Custard to the curb.
Stodgy? I am so confused right now. Why are we raising a generation of children that think tiny waists and gigantic eyes are the norm?
First girls were anorexic. Then they turned tanorexic. Soon they'll all be eyeorexic. They'll all want eye jobs as soon as they turn 16. "But Daddy, I need my eyes done. They are soooooo small and almond shaped!"
This isn't the first makeover that Miss Shortcake has received. Just a few years ago they updated her look. But unfortunately she looked like a crack-baby. And she was still too fat and her eyes too small.
Speaking of being too fat, American Greetings also said that the Care Bears will be getting a makeover as well. They'll all be losing that extra stuffing around the middle and getting eye jobs and eyelash extensions.
What is wrong with the world? What does it all mean? I'm so confused.

It could be worse, there could be Strawberry Shortcake stuff ALL OVER YOUR HOUSE....nope, thats just ME! Guess I will be seeing alot of Stripberry Shortcake.
I grew up with Strawberry Shortcake and still have some of the dolls from when I was younger. This is just sad!
Yea sad,for those more so that have grown up with it, but honestly she doesn't even look NEARLY as bad as those Brats dolls. And as for the big eyes and small waists, Barbie has been doing that for years. How many people/ kids would be "OH MY GOD!!! I WANT TUBBY FAST FOOD BARBIE!" I think people are more so mad at the change more then what she really looks like. They are going with what the Style is now among teens, if you are worried about this doll SO much then maybe you should blind fold your kids before taking them outside the house because i see teenage girls walking around that look FAR worse then this(saw a 13yr old in a mini skirt SO short and tight you could see her butt cheeks). Though seems the simplest way to go about it would be,if you don't like it don't by it. Called supply and demand if people don't by it they will lose money off it and stop. And if They don't lose money off the idea i guess you are then just over ruled either way, but you can know that you disagreed and didn't get it for you child. =)
