This week's American Idol was a diva-sandwich. That's one female crooner sandwiched between two Davids.
David "Boy" Archuleta kicked off the show with some Billy Joel song I've never heard of. He was okay. But like always, he's better on the slow songs and sucks on the fast ones.
Syesha "FEMA" Mercado rocked on all three songs. But the judges secretly hate her, even though they chose her to be on the show. But aparently America likes her. They've kept her around until the semi-finals.
Sick game isn't it?
The judges basically said, "We don't like you. Good-bye FEMA." Which is so crazy, because she did great. And you never know how fickle 13-year-olds and their millions of votes will be.
David "Man" Cook brought down the house in two of his three performances. Meaning the middle song Dare You to Move was "a little bit pitchy, Dawg."
My partner shouted out loud after Man-David's performance of The First Time, "That's the first time this season I've got goose bumps!"
Unless a major upset happens, I think we'll be seeing a David vs. David grand finale.
There's no outrageous Paula Abdul news to report this time around. She seemed perfectly sober and with it.
I knew she was sober the moment I saw her hair.
Paula has a "tell." Whenever her bangs are combed over her eyes instead of to the side of her face, she is blitzed. Forehead visible equals sober. Forehead covered equals "Party time. Excellent."
Here is my pick for last night's performance of the night. Man-David took a beautiful, soft ballad and made it sexy and masculine. It's one of my favorite song of all time.
Please to enjoy, The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face.
Cue the goose-bumps.
